For my birthday, David agreed to shred the old documents we had sitting around with lots of intriguing personal information in it. It took over the entire floor of the living room and obscured the television (quite a feat).

It's actually pretty. And far less strange than my dad balling up paperwork and running it under a sink until it is a useless spitball. My husband and I want a shredder :)
The pile was gorgeous, just a bit overwhelming in girth. The shredder is something I have wanted for a while, but it never quite made it to top of priority list. David had a cleaning ultimatum and, because I disallowed simply taking a chance on collection of old personal documents going to trash, he broke down and bought a shredder. It's small and overheated during the hours of initial shredding, but from here on forward it will be a happy addition to our home. Hmm, it needs a name....
